Based on the research of manned aerospace medicine and technology, in 1999 the Institute of Space Medicine of the German Aerospace Society (DLR) invented the first intermittent negative pressure device for the lower limbs. Since then, NASA has proposed intermittent negative pressure therapy based on intermittent negative pressure equipment for the lower limbs.
Based on this technical research, the German Weyergans company and the German Aerospace Medical Association developed the Vacusport® negative pressure fitness recovery system for professional athletes' physical recovery, regeneration, and trauma rehabilitation. Vacusport® uses Intermittent Vacuum Therapy (IVT) to promote lymphatic return and blood circulation by alternating negative pressure and ambient air pressure in the cabin, shortening the relaxation and post-traumatic recovery cycle, and allowing athletes to return to games in the shortest and best state.
